“Alcântara Inteira” is the new temporary exhibition at the Carris Museum, on display in Museum Nucleus 2.

Created in collaboration with the Universidade Alcântara Sénior (UAS) and Raúl Lino Primary School, “Alcântara Inteira” brings together memories, stories and perspectives from several generations, in a celebration of the Alcântara neighbourhood’s identity. 

The exhibition reveals many stories of Alcântara waiting to be discovered, from cinemas and cafés that have disappeared, to the garden slide on the steps enjoyed by grandparents in their childhood and by today’s grandchildren.

Through personal accounts, photographs and objects, students from Universidade Alcântara Sénior share their own history of Alcântara. Meanwhile, children from Classes 2E and 4F of Raúl Lino Primary School imagine the “transport of the future” through their drawings, while giving new meaning to historic Carris flags. 

The exhibition journey is further enriched by items from the Carris Museum and images from the Lisbon Municipal Archive. 

Until 16 January 2027, “Alcântara Inteira” is on display in Museum Nucleus 2 of the Carris Museum.
