NEW EXHIBITION

This project emerges from a collaboration with educational institutions — both seniors and children — from the Alcântara community. The UAS senior students shared their stories, childhood and youth memories, and other recollections that bear witness to the transformation of Alcântara over the years. In addition to these accounts, the exhibition includes photographs, objects, and artistic creations produced by the students. This material is complemented by pieces from the Museu da Carris collection and archival photographs from both the Museum and the Lisbon Municipal Archive. Inspired by the museum’s transport collection, the students of classes 2E and 4F from Raúl Lino Primary School were invited to imagine a transport of the future. They also created two collective paintings inspired by the old destination signs. “From eight to eighty” — in this blend of different voices, perspectives, and generations, we discover Alcântara in its entirety.
