Educational services are an essential element in the operation of a museum, as they establish a connection with the visitors, showing the collections through guided tours and other activities.

The aim of Educational Service is to make the museum collection accessible and engaging, both for children and adults. Through a sensory and experimental approach to the collections, the museum's educational programs concern familiar subjects such as transport, people and the city.

Though focusing on schools, as the museum collection constitutes an excellent point for children to learn using observation and experimentation, to explore their innate curiosity and to develop a critical attitude, these services also ensure the organization of tours for other groups, with different ages and professional interests on different areas, such as communities and associations.

Guided tours take place on museum hours, by appointment, for school groups and groups of adults and can be prepared together with teachers and people responsible for cultural groups. The recommended number of participants by tour must be 30 people, maximum.

The workshops and game-tours are designed for children between 4 and 12 years old and are designed to play and do some fun activities related to the exhibition, Carris, Lisbon, among other themes. The maximum number of participants is 30 people.
