Aumentar PARTH OF THE MONTH | Bells of Santo Amaro and Amoreiras Depots
Bells of Santo Amaro and Amoreiras Depots

The bells were use to announce the beginning and the end of work periods to the factory personnel.
The bells are made of painted wood and bronze. The largest was at St.Amaro Depot and was made by José de Oliveira in 1909.

1874 - Depots
The success of the network expansion, the fleet growth and the increasing number of traction animals, led to the need for new permanent premises. In 1874 they purchased a property that belonged to the ‘Condes da Ponte’ and it was possible to build ‘Santo Amaro’ Depot.
